First Robotics Team
FIRST(R) LEGO(R) League Explore showcase in 2019. The whole team consisted of two kids and one coach.

First Competition
While continuing to coach the Explore Teams, the first team moved up to the Challenge level where the team competed for the first time in January of 2023. The group grew to 3 teams comprising 7 coaches, 5 Challenge Team kids, and 11 Explore Team kids.

Going to State Competition
The second year of having a Challenge level team in FIRST(R) LEGO(R) League, the team made it to the state competition. Our entire group now was made up of 4 teams and 22 kids.

Hosting an Invitational
In partnership with Redstone Test Center (RTC) and the Advanced Manufacturing Innovation and Integration Center (AMIIC) , Whirly Girl Ink, Inc. hosted the first ever Redstone Invitational on March 30, 2024 at the AMIIC in Huntsville, AL. Four local teams scrimmaged and STEM demonstrations were presented by multiple groups from RTC including radio frequency interference and rocket propulsion demonstrations. Additionally, an experimental test pilot and human factors engineer talked about how helicopters are tested and showed a UAV that is currently being used in the Army.
